SUNDAY SCHOOL FOR ALL AGES
At MEFC we have Sunday School for all ages. For children ages 2 through 6th grade, we have a dedicated staff of teachers who build relationships with the students and their parents, and demonstrate Christ’s love to each student. In addition to teaching God’s Word, our kids learn songs to share during Christmas and Easter services, and represent Christ in other places in the community. Here is what they are learning…
Pre-School: Children learn that the Bible is God’s Word and that he loves and cares for them. Every child is encouraged to be actively engaged in the Bible story with three simple steps: play, listen, and talk. Each lesson is designed to lead them to experience God’s love and know Jesus. We begin teaching the importance of relationships and living as part of the Body of Christ at these early ages. We also offer a variety of ways for staff to link with parents, to work as a team in helping kids build faith at home throughout the week.
Grades 1 & 2: We help students learn to read and explore Bible stories and verses that they are able to understand and remember. They learn that God wants their trust and obedience, which leads them to Jesus, their Savior. Our curriculum helps teachers to confidently teach the Bible in contemporary and creative ways that lay a foundation of God’s Word in children’s lives.
Grades 3 & 4: Our curriculum for these grades builds on the previous years, helping the students to know Christ personally and to follow him. Each week, whether we are teaching from the Old or New Testament, children learn to understand and apply the Bible to their own lives.
Grades 5 & 6: Our teachers develop meaningful relationships with their students to help them develop a strong foundation of faith. Based on 24 key Bible passages, students discover what the Bible says about popularity, success, failure, friendship, rules and more. Kids develop Bible study skills, grow in relationship with Christ and maturity in him, and respond by serving Jesus in church and community.
AWANA
The acrostic "AWANA" stands for Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed.
It's a phrase borrowed from 2 Timothy 2:15. This program is not aligned with any particular denomination. The program runs from 6:30 - 8:00 pm most Wednesday nights from October to May. The evening is divided into three half-hour sessions: game time, handbook time, council time (stories, singing and awards). We offer three club groups.
Cubbies--age 3 by Sept. 1st and potty-trained up to pre-K
Sparks--Kindergarten through Grade 2
Truth and Training--Grades 3 through 6
Our AWANA program is planning a food drive in November for the Milaca Area Food Pantry and we will also participate in Operation Christmas Child. More information will be sent home with your AWANA clubber! Thanks in advance for all your help!!!
