Our team at MEFC is made up of everyday people equipped to provide grounded, biblically based, teaching. We know there is no formula for the perfect church, so we focus on loving God, loving people, and figuring out the rest along the way.

Don Yates

Hello!

I’ve been in pastoral ministry since 1994, serving churches in Texas and Illinois. I’m passionate about preaching, discipleship, men’s ministry, and leadership in the local church.

My amazing wife and I were married in 1993 and we have three great kids: Amanda, Seth, and Austin. I received my B.A. in History from Cal Poly Pomona, which is when I received Christ through the ministry of Cru. I enjoyed a background in business, but I left that early on to pursue ministry. I earned an M. Div from The Master’s Seminary and am pursuing a Master of Arts in Biblical Counseling from Faith Seminary in Lafayette, Indiana.

In my free time I enjoy football, shooting, reading, and running around with my family.

Tyler Upham

PASTOR OF WORSHIP + STUDENT MINISTRIES

Hi there!

I was privileged enough to join the team in October of 2020. My deepest passion is for generational ministry (Deuteronomy 6:4-9) and making Jesus the object of people’s worship (John 15:4). It’s such a blessing to be able to walk with others in these areas at MEFC!

My lovely wife Kiera and I have been sweethearts since middle school and we were happily married just before our arrival in Milaca.

I was blessed to have previously attended St. Paul’s University of Northwestern, then transferred and graduated from Crown College with a B.S. in Youth & Social Ministries and Christian Studies. I’m thankful to have also received a minor in Counseling Psychology and a certificate of graduation from the Fundamentals Training Course by the Association of Biblical Counselors.

I love the Cubs, all things music, my puppy Freya, and spending time outdoors.
